FISHERY RULES

To ensure the safety of our fish, anglers, and fishery, all visitors must follow the rules below at all times.

GENERAL RULES

  • Maximum 2 rod limit per angler.
  • Fish only within the boundaries of your allocated swim.
  • No plastic fused or leadcore leaders permitted.
  • Tubing or leadless leaders must be used, with a minimum length of 15 inches. No naked lines.
  • No fixed leads.
  • No braided mainline.
  • Minimum mainline breaking strain: 12lb.
  • Bait boats will be under constant review, and will be banned if mis-used. Keep within your own swim.
  • All litter must be removed from the fishery.
  • Fishing and bivvies are only permitted from designated stoned swims.

BAIT RULES

  • No shelf-life boilies.
  • No nuts.
  • No home-prepared particle bait.

FISH CARE RULES

  • Once a carp is netted, it must be left in the landing net for approximately 5 minutes to recover before being removed from the water.
  • The landing net must then be broken down, and the fish lifted using a weigh sling only.
  • Carp must be kept wet at all times while on the unhooking mat or in the cradle.
  • Please limit photographs to a maximum of 4 before safely returning the fish.
  • If you land a fish clearly over 30lb, please contact the fishery manager or another angler for assistance. No self-take photography for large fish.
  • Do not attempt to unhook fish while they are still in the water.
  • Fish must be treated with care and respect at all times.
  • Large padded unhooking mats or cradles must be used at all times.
  • All anglers must carry a suitable carp care or propolis treatment kit.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • There is strictly no entry or exit from the fishery between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
  • Please drive slowly and show respect to the resident living in the nearby cottage.

By fishing at Doon Valley Fishery, you agree to abide by all rules listed above. Any angler found breaking the rules will be asked to leave immediately. A second offence will result in a permanent ban from the fishery without refund.
